The next morning, as we ate breakfast, Quentin and I compared our Lonely Planet guide books. This soon became the morning ritual. We would write in our journals, take the time to use the free wi-fi, and decide what we would do that day. Today's first stop would be Seljalandsfoss.

In an effort to reach þórsmörk we followed F road 249 into the center of Iceland. Because we had 4 wheel drive I never thought this route would be an issue, but I quickly realized I was mistaken. After crossing water twice, I was forced to turn our group around.

Feeling discouraged, after nearly destroying the car when I drove over a giant boulder, I took a chance on a small one lane road, which eventually lead us to a private farm.

From there we headed back to route 1, but not before stopping to take in what was all around us.

Continuing East along route 1, we stopped and took pictures of Eyjafjallajökull, the famous Volcano that erupted in 2010.

Next stop would be Skógafoss, where I witnessed my first "full on... double rainbow."

We then drove to Dyrhólaey, a small peninsula not far from the village Vík. Here we met a couple who had just gotten married.

In Vík, I ate what would equate to the most delicious burger of my life. After, I was finally able to take a break from driving thanks to Mickael (the only other person who could drive an automatic car). While driving, we spotted some moss covered rocks and pulled over to jump on them. They were so soft that I wanted to pitch our tents then and there. This is also where Masato started singing Bruno Mars…
